What We're Reading: June 12

Happy Friday! Here's some of what we've been reading this week:

Comments

As I get ready to vote tonight on Obey Creek, I read with interest "The 5 myths about Portland apartments." It all sounds familiar! maria

From the Triangle Apartment Market Rate Survey: "It is estimated that approximately 5,600 units will be completed during the 12-month period ending in March of 2014. This level of new supply is forecasted to exceed average annual demand, which averaged 2,513 units between 2002 and 2013, and will result in the vacancy rate increasing to between 7.8% and 8.3% by March of 2014."

Senior housing--"87 percent of adults age 65+ want to stay in their current home and community as they age. Among people age 50 to 64, 71 percent of people want to age in place."

Nothing about the Obey Creek plan makes any sense, for the community, based on current statistics.
